Changing terrain (from amphitheatre to mountain) with breathtaking natural beauty and scenery. The first 10 holes & 18th are situated within the amphitheatre; Holes 11 through to 17 are built around Mount Royal (877 feet high), with spectacular panoramic views of The Grenadines and The Caribbean. Ideal course design as holes 1 and 10 start from the clubhouse with holes 9 and 18 returning.
Highlights
The first hole a par 5 will start at the clubhouse and climb gently to a green framed by the elevated fairways of the 2nd and 3rd holes. Other notable front nine holes are the sixth, a par 5 along the ocean (a good hole for a photograph, with views of the Raffles Amrita spa, the Galleria and Godahl reef) also the ninth a challenging par 5 returning to the clubhouse with water catching the unwary golfer to the right of the approach & green.
On the back nine, hole 13 with its panoramic views of the Grenadines, followed by the par 3 14th. Golfers strike down hill from the top of the mountain to a green set some 100 ft below. Then the 15th, this hole has to be seen to be believed, from the Championship Tee a strike of some 310 yards brings safety; less or more brings disaster. These tees have been cut into rock creating stunning effects as you drive out away from the side of the hill. The 16th hole could be described as possibly the longest par 3 in the world measuring some 304 yards; length and beauty are an equal challenge on this hole as you also have to negotiate 5 dramatic waterfalls that guard the front of the green. Hole 17 a par 5 meanders around the lake, this hole is a formidable task offering a challenge whether the golfer goes for the green in two across the lake or lays up on the narrow strip of land before the green, still wary that 18 is yet to come!
The 18th hole runs parallel to the 1st hole towards the clubhouse and is a challenging par 4 of some 486 yards where the unwary golfer can be caught by the water to the left of the green.
